Kev Mud beat seven other comics to win the UK Pun Championships 2024 at De Montfort Hall on Monday evening.
The 37-year-old previously worked as a sound technician at one of the festival venues and only picked up the microphone 18 months ago.

Quincy Promes is reportedly being held by police in Dubai after a mid-season training camp there with Spartak Moscow.
The former Ajax star was stopped at border control and was not allowed to travel with his team-mates back to Russia.
Promes was in February sentenced to six years in prison for his involvement in smuggling over 1,350 kilos of cocaine in January 2020.
The Netherlands’ Public Prosecution Service was not aware of Promes’ detention when it initially happened, according to De Telegraaf.
